Want To Play Golf Like The Professionals

Have you ever wanted to play golf like the professionals? Besides having all the techniques in the world by the number 1 coach at the golf school, and having best physical instructor to tune your body, what else do you need?

You need to get into the right frame of mind!

Before you start a round of golf with your buddies, think first. Are you still sleepy after a poor night's rest? Are you nervous that the pesky customer of yours hasn't accepted your business proposal? Are you worrying about your kid's pending examinations? Do those silly car drivers who almost run you off the road on the way to the golf course bother you? Or you just had a fight with your spouse last night? You got the drift..

Most of the time, before you start on your round, your state of mind is at the wrong state! I know you are busy, with work, with family, with life generally. We are all humans and we cannot change this fact.

So how do we get into the "right" state of mind? Bear in mind, this golf thing is just a game, and it is SUPPOSED TO BE FUN! Why else would you want to be paying big bucks to hit a little white ball into a tiny cup?

RELAX! So how do you relax and get into the right state of mind? It is actually quite simple. Ask yourself a little question, how did you feel inside when you played your best round of golf last? Go back to that time and place; the feelings are great aren't it? But what did you do back then? What were the feelings you had? Were you relaxed back then? Were you confident with your swings? Were you having fun? Were you enjoying the game?

Think about this, do you play better, whenever you:

* Feel excited to be playing
* Are happy to be playing with your buddies, as they would not laugh at your swings
* Feel calm
* Feel energized and happy to be out on the golf course, with the beautiful surroundings
* Are worry free and joking with your buddies
* Feel relaxed, rested and healthy
* Feel the magic of being alive!

It is not easy to be in the above state of mind, is it? How can you get from point A, the stressed-out chap, to point B, the focused golfer? Do not expect to change and improve this overnight, it is a gradual process.

Find out what you normally do before a round of golf. Are you rushing from work to play golf? Or are you stressed out with your game and worrying you will make a fool out of yourself at the fairway? Identify what could be bothering you, without you knowing it.

Regardless of how stressed up you are, there will be ways for you to relax, and get into a different state of mind. Some of the methods you can try out:

* Listen to your favorite music
* Pay attention to your golf buddies
* Visualize your best round of golf
* Think about the best moments in your life
* Talk with a good friend
* Joke with your friends
* Laugh
* Meditate
* Visualize mastering that challenging hole
* Walk the course and appreciate the beautiful surroundings
* Think of the time you are at your most confident

You should also consider setting out a longer time period prior to your round. If you are leaving your office 1 hour prior to your game, leave 2 hours prior to your game. Have a no haste drive to the club. While driving there, listen to your favorite music, or call your buddy up for a chat, laugh your way along the journey.

When you reach the club, take a moment to look at the beautiful surroundings, take your time to change, think about the times you are at your most confident. If you have time to spare, I would even recommend you take a quick shower.

In short, do anything that you can make your mind relax, and away from the normal routines that stress you up. Remember, golf is supposed to be fun, and you are out to have fun!
