Anyone who golfs will tell you they have gone through their share of golf balls. They seem to get lost all the time, and costs of replacing the golf balls can mount quickly.
Even the best pro golfers routinely lose their golf balls, for the average Joe; these "lost balls" can quickly become an expensive addition to our golf outing.
You should consider buying used golf balls that are in great condition and ready to play in bulk over the Internet. There are many companies that sell used balls, usually in dozens. Various companies have various grading systems for their balls, but they are quite similar in nature. Just go to Google and search for them, you will find a huge list available.
Most such sites offer some sort of quality assurance sorting; the balls they sell are usually graded, sorted in various categories and sold by the dozen.
The top grade used golf balls are often called Grade A or Grade 1, or some refers to them as Grade AAA. They are usually in almost like new conditions. You often cannot find almost the same as new ones. These are usually defined as near perfect with a slight blemish or mark.
You can also settle for Grade B or Grade 2 golf balls. These usually have more than one mark, but can be played as new. The price is a bit cheaper than those near perfect ones.
There is a third grade call Grade C or Grade 3, some sites will list them as "range balls". These balls are more used, and usually carry several marks and blemishes. They are suitable for range play or practice rounds, and they are usually less expensive than others.
You should ensure that the site specifies there is no "X out" or manufacturer rejects. You should also avoid "water balls".
You can also check with your golf club. Sometimes they hold sales of used balls to clear of their inventories as well. You may just find some of the balls you have lost last season!
Finally, before making that purchase, make sure you compare prices based on the price of the golf balls AND shipping costs. Some sites offer free shipping, some sites charge ridiculous shipping fees. Make sure you verify in advance. If you can pool your orders together with your golfing buddies, you should. It will save you some money in shipping and possibly lower prices for the golf balls too.
